- Christophe Chartier is currently Professor in Bovine Health Management at Oniris National Veterinary School (since 2010). He is involved in teaching ruminant diseases and doing research on ruminant parasites. He is Doctor in Veterinary Medicine (1982), graduated in Animal Production in Warm Area (982), in Tropical Pathology (1982), in General Parasitology and Comparative Pathology (1984) and in Epidemiology of Communicable Diseases (1984). He gained his PhD on Epidemiology of nematode infections in cattle in Upper Zaïre (Montpellier University, 1989) and his HDR (habilitation à diriger des recherches) in 1998 (Tours University).
- Christophe Chartier is diplomate (de facto) of the European Veterinary Parasitology College and expert in the ANSES Animal Health and Welfare Committee, both since 2003. He was past director of the Niort (Goat) Research Laboratory (ANSES) AFSSA) between 1989 and 2010 and involved in ruminant research as well.
- From 1983 to 1989, he was researcher in parasitology and epidemiology in ruminant diseases (CIRAD).
- Christophe Chartier has been involved in several European or national projects dealing with small ruminant nematodes parasites in european programs as FAIR projects " Worm control in organic production systems for small ruminants in Europe : towards the implementation of non-chemical, sustainable approaches " (2001-2004) and " Environmentally sensitive approaches to nematode parasite control in sustainable agricultural systems for sheep and goats" (1996-1999) or COST Action "Capara" on goat parasites (2009-2014) and in norwegian program on anthelmintic resistance in small ruminants (2006-2012). He is currently involved in national transprogram of INRA on reduction of anthelmintics in livestock (GISA Strep) and on AEI ("Agriculture Ecologiquement Intensive") project on targeted anthelmintic treatment in cattle. He has supervised 8 PhD students and published 134 publications in international peer-reviewed journals and 153 congress publications on the field of ruminant parasitology.
